  1.             DataMail Multi-way Private File Exchange Door:
  2.  
  3.     DataMail is a highly functional, highly flexible BBS door designed
  4. to handle exchanges of files between Users of your BBS in a most
  5. efficient, expedious, and flexible manner:
  6.  
  7. - Sysop/User, User/Sysop, User/User transfers
  8. - 1 copy of a file can be sent to multiple receivers
  9. - "Groups" can be defined as a permenant list of Users.  Upload to the
  10.   Group, and all Users in that Group get a copy of your file.
  11. - The uploader may "overlay" a previous upload if needed.  No need to
  12.   retype the Receiver-List; DataMail knows who gets your new version.
  13.   If desired, Uploader may modify the list.
  14. - Uploader may add or delete receivers to an existing upload at will,
  15.   without having to upload the file a second time.
  16. - Uploader may Delete his/her own uploaded file if need be.
  17. - Receiver-name validation included.  Allows uploader to perform
  18.   quick-searches on User or Group Names by matching characters.
  19. - Receivers have the options:
  20.     - Download the file(s)
  21.     - Delete the file(s)
  22.     - Leave things alone and return to the BBS
  23. - Users are not allowed to upload until they have disposed of all files
  24.   waiting for them to download (downloaded or deleted them).
  25. - Complete Audit-Messages notify both Uploader and Receivers of each
  26.   action performed against files (e.g., Uploaded, Downloaded, Deleted,
  27.   etc., messages are generated to both parties).
  28. - Sysop can specify minimum required free-disk space at all times
  29.   (DataMail will never allow an uploader to violate this - EVER!)
  30. - By security level of Uploader, Sysop can specify:
  31.     - Required minimum Sec-Lvl of Receiver(s)
  32.     - Maximum # files allowed to be uploaded and still on your disk
  33.     - Maximum days to keep each file before it is received/auto-deleted
  34.     - Maximum size allowed for any single uploaded file
  35. - Sysop may assign a User as a Group's Host.  The Host may then add or
  36.   delete other Users from the Group.  Frees the Sysop from this chore.
  37. - DataMail will auto-delete files that have not been downloaded and
  38.   have reached their expiration date.
  39. - DataMail will remove a receiver from the Receiver-List if he/she is
  40.   suddenly marked as "Deleted" or "Locked-Out".
  41. - Full cross-referenced reporting available to assist Sysop in tracking
  42.   use/abuse of DataMail.  Can be used for statistics or even billing!
  43. - For BBSes that generate DOOR.SYS at login-time, DataMail can be auto-
  44.   scanned for any files waiting to be downloaded and force the User to
  45.   run the DataMail door.  Helps to get files off your disk much faster.
  46. - Supports keyboard time-outs, carrier-drop, etc.
  47. - Uses its own databases. Does not interfere with other BBS files.
  48. - Lots more, but you get the idea.  Highly flexible for the User, but
  49.   allows the Sysop to protect his/her precious disk space!

  51. DataMail is designed to be as BBS-independent as possible, and thus
  52. highly portable to any DOOR.SYS BBS software package.  This release
  53. supports:

  55.                              Wildcat! 3.0x
  56.                              PC Board 1.45a
  57.                              RemoteAccess 1.1x

  59. More can be added quickly for those who wish to use it on other BBSes.

  61. Substantial discounts for Students with high GPA's.  Supports multi-node
  62. BBSes.  Sysop-defined transfer protocols (up to 5, samples included).
  63. Requires UTI programs for message imports, but this is optional if you
  64. don't want this feature.

  66. License fee is $20 U.S. funds only (students discounted down to $8 for
  67. excellent marks).  Shareware version is FULLY functional; it simply
  68. displays "Not Registered" when running the door.  Customized
  69. Registration Identifiers available at registration time.
